/Today, I’m a house. My eyes are blurry from tears I have not shed. I shelter pain like a nursing mother; I nurture it as though it were a beloved plant; I do not wish to shy away from its grip. /I hold emotions in me like a vessel. I’m a cacophony of unanswered emotions; they swirl in me like a vortex. A sigh of damnation escapes my lips / I do not want to be here. I want to play amongst the stars, and birth new expressions of art. This body is a confine; it withholds me from myself/ How does one fly with wings of clay? /I’m a potter’s afterthought. I’m not an enigma/ My pieces are incomplete./ I do not know what I am expected to be. I’m holding on to air, my words coming in ragged gasps / Save me / Save me. /No savior is forthcoming. /I do not know me. My body bends and break at the slightest provocation. I’m a doll, a makeshift human/ Some rushed craftsmanship. /But I will not cry: I will hold back the dam that threatens to burst from behind my eyelids. /I seek color in a world of monochrome. They say my limbs cannot reach heaven. I say they have no imagination. /I do not need your pity. So, peace, be still./
